Antique Imperial Driving Horse Bit

The horse bit was used on my family farm located in Galena IL. My grandparents and parents ran a 170 acre farm with dairy cattle. Horses were used farm the land full time from 1920 until 1947.
From my research, this is a design that was patented in the 1890s. A 1908 Sears ad claims "Forged steel mouth bar for vicious and un-manageable horse it has no equal value. The tongue cannot be carried over the top of the bit. It's peculiar construction gives the driver such leverage that he is absolutely safe behind the most treacherous horse."
Hoping some one will find enjoyment in it rather than it laying around the farm. I would be willing to ship the bit, buyer pays for shipping.
